Filming in and near Tahiti’s ocean for nearly a month can cause some serious corrosion on gear

These bolt heads were looking crusty and gross! Look at that rust

Lets clean off the salt, corrosion and rust with some high pressure air, water and sand

The fine grain sand blasts the rust and corrosion off without damaging the intricate shapes of the fasteners

I used some high temp paint that can resist up to 1200 degree heat and should be a pretty good coat resisting all the elements

This looks much better than it was

I used a plastic bin and covered the top as much as I could to make a makeshift sand blasting station, that way I would re use all the special sand that I used to blast the rust off.

It’s messy

I used Ryobi’s cordless power scrubber to get in all the tight spaces

Clorox wipes for the encrusted salt and dirt

I took off this old sticky velcro and the whole logo came right off!

It was super gooey and sticky, Goof Off to the rescue along with a little elbow grease

I finally determined Krazy glue might do the trick getting this thing back on

The gel set fast and held great!

Of course Goof off helped with clean up
